Training for Executives & Managers
Executive leadership is the foundation of any successful Six Sigma implementation. Most companies that achieve significant results with Six Sigma have the commitment and leadership of their executive management. Achieving strategic Six Sigma leadership goals in each of the areas requires rigorous training, not just in Six Sigma statistical and analytical principles, but in the equally important tasks of articulating a vision , driving change, and leading people. Moreover change acceleration studies show that providing people with the right training can dramatically accelerate organizational change efforts. For both these reason, we typically introduce a company CEO and top leadership team to strategic Six Sigma leadership principles in a one, three or five day Six Sigma champions workshop. This workshop has eight main goals. It is designed to:
- Build top leadership awareness of Six Sigma methods and tools, and how best to apply them in
transformational way on an enterprise-wide basis,
- Foster top leadership understanding of the three elements of strategic Six Sigma: Define, Measure,
Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC), Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and process management,
- Help top leaders understand the individual roles they must play as leaders, in cascading awareness and
knowledge of Six Sigma principles and practices throughout the organization,
- Build top leadership consensus about the goals and strategies of the organization, and to quantify
strategies and business objectives as clearly as possible,
- Identify strategic improvement goals, and specific Six Sigma projects that can be undertaken to meet
strategic improvement needs,
- Help leaders build infrastructure of systems, people, skills, processes, and metrics necessary to
effectively identify, launch, and successfully complete Six Sigma (DMAIC and DFSS) projects,
- Help leaders select other leaders to spearhead the work of individual Six Sigma project teams and
projects,
- Craft compelling communications messages that will be used to build leadership and employee commitment
to Six Sigma principles at all levels.
